Mr. Roy Gene Mason

The family is saddened by the passing of our beloved Roy Gene Mason, age 53. He entered peacefully into the presence of Christ, Friday October 4th, 2013. Roy was a long time resident of Albertville, AL. He was employed with Bob Hembree Motor Company for 16 years as a Certified Auto Body Technician. Roy was a member of the Sanctuary Church in Albertville. The joy's in his life was spending time with his family, barbecuing, fishing and traveling. He was an avid Alabama Fan (Roll Tide!) and Chicago Bears Fan (Da Bears). Roy is preceded in death by his parents: Loyal Eugene Mason and Dorothy White Mason. He leaves to cherish 37 years of precious memories to his loving wife, Martine Mason. Also left to cherish and glow from his life's lessons are his children, Tiffany Mason, Shaun (Paige) Mason and chosen daughter Jessica McClure-Beason, all of Albertville. Granddaughters: Makayla Mason, Alexiss Mason, Lauren Brown, Prisicilla Brown and Presley Spicer. Brothers: Dennis (Ann) Mason of New Market, Troy (Debbie) Mason of Hammond, IN. and Loyal (Marsha) Mason of Albertville Sisters: Donna (Keith) Jeffreys of Albertville, Misty (Mike) Casey of Boaz, Daphne Sylvester of Hazel Green. Sister-in-law: Barbara Allenbaugh of Ventura,CA Brother-in-law: Jim Matovina of Crete, IL as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends. Visitation was held Sunday, October 6th from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Services were held Monday, October 7th at 2:00 p.m. Adams Brown Funeral Services directing with burial at Memory Hill Cemetery in Albertville. Revs. Lonnie Craft and Cale Dennis conducted Roy's celebration of life. Blake Spicer sung Roy's special song, "The Dance." Pallbearers: Tracy Shelton, Destry Craft, John Houston, Anthony Dake, Keith Jeffreys and Jim Matovina. Honorary Pallbearers: Employees of Bob Hembree Motor Company of Guntersville. The family extends special thanks to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Chicago and Hospice-Shepards Cove in Albertville. Although our family hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing our husband, father and pops is in the presence of the Lord. There is no more personal touch than to be in the present with Jesus for eternity. Dedicated to our dearly loved Roy: God looked around his garden and he found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering. He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough and the hills hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyes and whispered, "Peace be thine." It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you the day God called you home.
