Mrs. Mary C Harrell

Mary Carmen Burt (Harrell), 80, of Huntsville, formally of Asbury, Alabama passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Windsor House Nursing Home of natural causes. Born and raised in Asbury, Alabama (Jan.31, 1937) to Carmen and Ruth Burt. Married Knowlton Walker Harrell in 1954 (Mississippi). Education, Asbury School, Marshall County High School, Snead Jr. State College. Mary has residences in Asbury,Alabama,Chicago,Illinois,Casselberry,Fla.,Orlando, Fla. Huntsville, Al. Mary loved to paint, read,play piano, enjoyed watching plays - attended frequent plays performed in Anniston, loved to sing, sang many times at the old radio station in Boaz, sang in the church choir, loved to cook , was once featured in a Castleberry, Fla newspaper showing her talents. She taught Sunday school for many years, very devoted to her studies, she loved attending sporting events with family (basketball, baseball, soccer) & especially loved Alabama football. Charities included International Fellowship of Christians and Jews as well as Alabama Public Radio. Worked for(the non-profit organization): Marshall County Coalition against Domestic Violence fot two years(assisting Hispanic families). Employed with Florida Gas,State of Florida Real Estate Commission, Monsanto Corportation, Lockheed Martin for 10 years [ Secretary ] Huntsville. She is survived by her three children: (daughter) Mary Elizabeth Cooksey [Harrell] (husband) Charles Cooksey of Moline, Ill. (son) Thomas K. Harrell (wife) Stacey Harrell of Georgetown, Texas;(son) Alan W. Harrell (wife) Julie S. Harrell of Huntsville,Alabama. Grandchildren,Sarah Thomas,Sandra Costello, Amanda Harrell,Brandon Harrell,Sierra Harrell. Great-grandchildren,Jacob Thomas, Brady Costello & Landon Costello. Service will be held Wednesday,January 17, 2018; Funeral visitation: Adams Brown-Services Funeral Home, 6906 US-431, Albertville, AL 35950 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Church Sanctuary service; testimonials: Asbury United Methodist Church, 3205 Asbury Road, Albertville, Al 35951 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Officiant: Eugene Lambert / Pallbearers: Stanley Sato, Clifford Sato, Thomas Harrell, Alan Harrell,and Brandon Harrell. Interment: Asbury United Methodist cemetary. To our beloved mother, acknowledging her endless love for her children.
