Alisha "Renae" Smith

Alisha “Renae” Smith, affectionately known by many as “Aunt Nae Nae,” age 46, of Albertville, Alabama, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Friday, April 10, 2026, at her residence. Renae lived a life centered on faith, family, and caring for others. She was deeply loved by a close community of family and friends who were very dear to her heart. A woman of deep prayer and unwavering faith, she attended church regularly and strived to live her life according to the loving principles of Christ. She was well known for her kindness and generosity, always thinking of others and placing their needs before her own. Renae often did without so that she could serve those around her, finding great purpose in helping people and truly being the hands and feet of Jesus. Renae had a special love for hummingbirds, nature, and animals. She could often be found enjoying the beauty of nature in her yard and putting out food for stray animals. Her gentle and caring spirit was evident in the many beloved pets she welcomed into her life throughout the years. Although Renae faced lifelong struggles with a difficult diagnosis, she never allowed those challenges to keep her from living life to the fullest. She found strength and comfort in her faith, family, friends, and community. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who supported Renae and their family during this difficult time—those who sat with her, provided meals, offered encouragement, and helped them maintain as normal a life as possible while navigating her journey with cancer. She is survived by her parents, Marcia and James Harold Smith; sister, Stephanie Snell; nieces and nephews, Natasha, Ruthy, Isaac, Sophia, Harper, Ethan, and Erika; grandmother, Willodeen Bearden; uncle, Michael Bearden; aunt, Esther Bearden; along with a host of cousins, friends, and her adored fur babies. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the chapel of Adams Brown Service Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Gilliland and Bro. Jimmy Umphrey officiating. Burial will follow at New Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, April 14, 2026, from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and again on Wednesday prior to the service from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jeff Terrell, John Short, Sean Hanrahan, Ed Chamblee, Cody Webb, Nathan Barnett, and Stephen Barnett. Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne King. Adams Brown Service Funeral Home assisting the family.
